We had Joshua's birthday party on Dec 12. He had a sleepover. Then on the 17th we had a family party for him on his real birthday. Here are a few pics from those.

For Christmas, we went to Denver. We had a wonderful visit with all of our family. We drove out there Christmas Eve and left Saturday afternoon to drive to Omaha. We spent the night there, and Sunday (the 28th) we drove to Des Moines to celebrate Christmas with Jason's family. We left our camera in the hotel the whole time, so I am waiting on pictures from other family members who took some. It was a long drive for a short trip, but the kids did great, and we got to see everyone.
The week of Christmas, we had a tornado come through! It wasn't big, but didn't cause a lot of damage, but we had over $10,000 worth of damage. It flattened our gazebo, blew shingles off the roof, and started pulling the siding away from our house. The neighbor next door, his r
I had found out the beginning of December that my Grandfather had cancer, and learned later it was in his lungs, lymph nodes, and spine. New Years Day he was hospitalized and wasn't doing well, so Saturday the 3rd, I drove to Atlanta (I was unable to get a flight out). Poppy died Tuesday, January 6. Jason brought the kids down for the funeral and got in around midnight Thursday night. We drove home Sunday the 11th. So in 2 1/2 weeks, we drove over 3500 miles, not including the driving around KC too. It was a really sad time, but it was wonderful to see family I haven't seen in close to 20 years, and to spend time with everyone.
The boys are both doing extremely well in school. They both have mostly 3's (exceeds expectations) on their report cards. They both are enjoying their time with their friends as well. It is hard to believe that this year is already half over.
Here are a few other pictures.
