Joshua has really immersed himself in reading. I guess he has finally figured out that it's good to do, even if it's not required for school. He just finished a research project where he had to research a historical figure (his was John Adams) and then make a puppet and use the puppet to do an "interview" with the person. His next project is to make a covered wagon in any way he wants while writing the steps he took to make it. He has been busy with playdates and birthday parties this month.
Zachary has also had lots of birthday parties. He is learning so much and just soaking everything in. This weekend, we ran through Taco Johns, and there was an Arbys next door. While he was looking at the sign, he said "I know how to spell Arbys. A-R-B-Y-S." Joshua said "I know how to spell every word in the world." Zachary said "I bet you can't spell rhinosaurous." I thought that was very clever and it cracked me up.
Sarah is also learning a lot, aside from using the 'big girl potty' which she has little to no interest in. She did it once yesterday and now says "I already DID use the potty" like she doesn't have to do it again. Grrr.
My Mom is moving in with us this week for a little while, and we are excited about that. We've been busy getting the house ready for her. Good motivation to throw out some stuff and get some organizing done. I also decided I am going to start running tomorrow morning. I need something new to do. I will have to see how it goes...because of all of the ankle and kee problems I have had for so long, I have never been a runner. But, I found a 6 week, 5k program and am going to follow that. I don't know that I will actually ever run in a 5k, but it seems like a good starting point.
Here are a few pics from the zoo a few weeks ago.

HI Jennifer! Sorry I haven't emailed- I've been terribly busy & neglectful. But I love checking your blog & enjoyed seeing the photos of the kids. Wishing everyone "get well soon"! -Debra
