Yet another ER visit for Sarah
Ugh. Today, she was trying to get away from me in the street, and when she pulled and I was holding on, her arm popped. She started screaming, and it immediately swelled and looked discolored. After 45 minutes of screaming, and not letting me put her down and not using her arm, I thought she must have broken it. I called Jason, he came home, and I took her to urgent care with visions of surgery, a cast, and Child Protective Services visits. We got there, they got us right back, and she was quickly diagnosed with nursemaid's elbow. Before I knew it, the doctor had it popped right back in place, and we gave her some motrin. The nurse brought her some stickers, and when she reached for it, she used her left hand for the first time since she had hurt it. She has been fine ever sense! Thank goodness it wasn't a break!

Hi Jennifer- it's Debra! The SAME thing happened to Christopher when he was about 12-15 months old. I tried to remove him from his carseat & his elbow just popped out! LOVE your blog- sorry I don't email/comment much.
