A lot to catch up on!

I can't believe how much time has passed since my last post. We've been so busy with school, Jason traveling, social calendars, etc.

Joshua is doing very well academically in school, though he has had some other issues...mostly talking and preventing other kids from getting their work done. He is doing much better about that now though. He has a very busy social calendar...it seems he always has friends over here or is going to a friend's house. He loves it. His teacher has been awesome about making sure he is challenged. He just got done doing a 6 week project with the gifted teacher that was a science unit. They got to do a research project and make a Power Point presentation to the group, which he thought was pretty cool. He also had one of the leads in the 2nd grade musical, and did very well. You can see some of his speaking part at this link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H4ISH8wjnRM And here are a few pictures. He's the one on the top left with the shark teeth.

He just lost tooth #8 this week. Tuesday night, while he was putting it under his pillow, he was totally cracking me up.

Josh: "Mom, is the tooth fairy REALLY real?"
Me: "What do you mean?" (Totally caught off guard)
J: "Well, I know fairies aren't real. And even if she is, she wouldn't be able to carry money?"
M: Why not?
J: Because she is so tiny! (I never thought about that.)
Besides, I know other things aren't real.
M: Like what?
J: Like flying reindeer and reindeer with red noses.
M: If they aren't real, then who does those things.
J: I'm not sure, so they must be real since it happens.
M: (Unsure of what to say and because Zachary was right there) Well, it's just all magic. That's why those things can happen.
J: Well I know the Easter Bunny isn't real. It's just some guy in a costume that goes into people's houses and leaves stuff on their couch.

Zachary is doing really well. He loves school, and is so glad to have his own friends instead of Joshua's friends, or siblings of Joshua's friends. He is an amazing reader, and is quickly becoming fluent in Spanish. (They have Spanish class twice a week.) His musical is coming up the Tuesday before Thanksgiving. He is still a video game maniac too. Here is a picture of him playing Rock Band (one of our favorite family activities).

Zachary, Joshua, and Jason have a father/son campout tonight. I must say that considering it is only 49 at 1005 right now, I don't envy them. It's going to be cold!

Sarah *seems to have* successfully fought off (with the help of several medications) her first illness of the fall. I sure hope we don't have another year like last year. I thought she'd be more "lost" with the boys both in school, but she enjoys her Mommy time, plus I baby sit most afternoons for a 4 year old, and she likes to play with him. She also has her own play dates. She is one smart cookie, but boy is she a pistol. She knows her letters, and is learning the sounds they make. She has no interest in potty training, though she did pick out some Dora panties this week, so the week after next, we need to try again. (Next week will be busy, plus we are doing some traveling.)

Here's a picture of Sarah when she was sick. I haven't been very good at taking pictures lately. I need to get back on that.

I do plan on taking the kids to the arboretum next week and getting some fall pics...maybe on Wednesday.

Here are some random pics from our 6 hour trip to the zoo last Friday. My friend Amy and I took her son, my kids, and Zachary's friend. The weather was gorgeous, and we just took our time, did what the kids wanted to do, and enjoyed visiting.

I have a few more pics to add, but I guess it will have to wait as it isn't letting me upload them.
