Lots of updates on this week (including Sarah's doctor's appointments)

TUESDAY:
The boys had day 2 of swimming. In the afternoon, Sarah had her appointment with the ENT. He said that she looks great right now, but if she gets another sinus infection in the next 3 months, we are looking at removing her adenoids and flushing her sinuses. That works about 50% of the time. The other 50% of the time, they do sinus surgery. But, before I'd let him touch her, I would definitely have a 2nd opinion. Then we went and met some friends at the park for a couple of hours. It was great ~ the kids had a ball and got out some pent up energy.

WEDNESDAY:
Swimming lessons #3, and they are improving every day. Wednesday afternoon, we met some friends at the pool. Sarah had a ball at the pool. She would wade out into chin deep water, then dive under and swim under water. I'd pick her up after a few seconds and she said "yay! I did it!" I think she might be swimming by the end of the summer.

THURSDAY:
Swimming lesson #4. I felt like it was huge strides for Joshua because he actually did some floating on his own, and kicking with a kick board. Up until this point, he has never picked his feet up off the ground on his own while in the pool. He isn't afraid of water, he will put his head under water without a problem, jump in where he can touch the bottom, etc. But he had some fear of actually picking his feet up to actually kick or float. I am optimistic that something will click for him and he will swim this summer. They have lessons next week as well.

Then Sarah had an appointment with the allergy and asthma doctor. She felt that Sarah is doing extremely well. We also re-tested her for a cat and dog allergy, but she tested negative to both of those, which is a good thing. Hopefully things will stay status quo (as they are now), and she will remain healthy.

After that, a good friend of ours came up from Pittsburg. We spent the afternoon with Cheryl, getting Sarah's flower girl dress for her wedding, and doing some other shopping. We had a nice dinner and enjoyed spending the day with her. It has been a while since we have gotten to spend so much time with her. We have known Cheryl about 12 years, and she has been such an important part of our lives.

FRIDAY:
After lessons, we went to have Sarah's repeat CT Scan done of her sinuses to make sure she is completely clear (even though her symptoms would indicate she is). Then we had to take the scan over to the allergist so she could look at them. She was very pleased as all of her sinuses are now clear. We finally got home around noon. We had a nice evening visiting with some friends.
