7-28-2013 Burgers and Baptisms

Some huge things have happened in our family this year! March 9 of this year, Sarah asked Jesus into her heart on the way home from a birthday party. It was so cute because she was worried about the fact that it was happening in the van. Then on Easter Sunday, Joshua asked Jesus into his heart at Church. And, in June, during the week of VBS, Zachary asked Jesus into his heart one evening at home. We decided that we wanted to join the church we had been attending since January of 2012. The denomination we used to attend did not re-baptize people, so since I was baptized as an infant, I had not been baptized again after I accepted Christ. In our church, you have to be baptized after you are saved, so in order to join, I had to be baptized. Since the kids had accepted Jesus, they also needed to be baptized. And Jason says that he did not really accept Christ until the last year or so, so he also needed to be baptized. Our Church did something different this year, and they called it "Burgers and Baptisms". We met at a lake and grilled burgers and almost 40 people got baptized. It was such a neat experience, and very different than what we were used to in the baptistery in the sanctuary. They tried to baptize family units together, so all 5 of us got to be in the lake at once.
They baptized each person separately after sharing their story. Some of these are pictures of pictures, so forgive the quality!
And Anna enjoyed playing at the playground.
